Formula Woman competition gets off to a flying start!
4th October 2021
The Shepherd Compello supported Formula Woman competition - a televised motorsport programme that’s been devised to find the next female racing champions - got underway on the 19th and 20th September, as 150 candidates took part in the first round of assessments at Anglesey Circuit in North Wales.
Following introductions and a briefing, the day comprised a series of mind-coaching sessions, fitness assessments, media training and written tests. It was then the moment the candidates had all been waiting for, when they took to the track for the first of the competition’s practical sessions in a Vauxhall Corsa-e.
Formula Woman founder Graeme Glew commented: “The first assessment day at Anglesey got us off to a fabulous start. The event was a huge success and provided a real insight into many of the applicant’s natural racing abilities. I look forward to seeing how each of them develop their skills as we progress through the competition.
“We congratulate all those who did well on the day and extend a huge thank you to all of our partners, especially Vauxhall, Tradecentre, McLaren, Trico, Ryley Wealth Management and of course, Shepherd Compello.”
The next round of assessments will take place at Knockhill Circuit in Scotland on 1st November. We look forward to reporting on the outcome.
