Shepherd Compello continues its support for Formula Woman

Following a successful first year of partnership with the ground-breaking Formula Woman programme, Shepherd Compello Motorsport Insurance is pleased to announce its continued association for the 2022/23 campaign to find the next female motor racing champions.

 

First held in 2006 and then resurrected in 2021, the competition invites applicants to participate in a programme that after a series of online assessments, sees the successful candidates progress to the track to be put through their paces. This involves a written test, fitness training, media interviews and track sessions in Karts and then Vauxhall Astras alongside a race instructor.

 

Following the first batch of practical assessments in November that take place at a series of venues in the UK, the best 50 contestants go forward to the finals. After further tests and evaluations, judges will select six winners who will ultimately be given the opportunity to race a McLaren GT4 sports car in the 2023 GT Cup Championship. 

 

Shepherd Compello recognises the importance of diversity and sees its association with Formula Woman as an opportunity to signal its support for equality in motorsport, an area that has been predominately occupied by male drivers since car races were first held at the end of the 19th century. The company is therefore proud to be involved and support contestants on their journey through the various stages of the competition and beyond.
